We departed out of the the Cruise Port in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 2, 2017 at 8:30 PM. The weather was not a factor and matter of fact no one really paid any attention to it. The excitement was all about going on a 7 Day Caribbean Cruise.
Our first port was St Thomas in the Virgin Islands on September 3, 2017. We arrived at 8 AM and could spend the entire day on the island.
Our first view as we exited the ship was a Dutch Windmill! St Thomas Island is founded by the Dutch. We chose to hike and shop. After talking with the locals they told us of a beach which the "cruisers" were not told about. It was Emerald Beach. We rode the Taxi to Emerald Beach which was absolutely beautiful! And the locals was correct in that very few people were there. Only locals seem to be in the area. It was a calm day with small waves washing into the beach. We removed our shoes and walked in the surf.
