I watched a pretty girl as she walked on by.

When a copper penny on the ground caught her eye.

She didn't seem to care if it was heads up, or heads down,

To her a coin has value, however it's found

The smile was genuine as she picked it up,

This would be a good day, can you believe the luck?

Right then I knew she had my undying affection,

Could I like that penny attract her attention?

I knew I didn't have much, so here's what I told her

"We'll be of One heart, One life; growing stronger not just older,"

A fortune's a fortune whether it's great or it's small.

Who knew our shared life would deliver it all.

She deserves all the best that a life has to offer, 

Not just some found pennies to add to her coffer.

But treasures to her are not made of gold.

They're of shared memories, our love, and more days to have and to hold.

Today I find that the luck is all mine,

She's my wife and best friend all of the time

I pray that God grants us a life of the greatest portion,

But no matter what, I've found in her my small fortune.

Grace is available for each of us every day--our spiritual daily bread--but we've got to remember to ask for it with a grateful heart and try not to worry about whether there will be enough for tomorrow. There will be.

My Sister...a special note

My Sister……

Days and days we wait for reports on why My Sister is not feeling good. Then the one day comes My Sister calls me on the phone. She received the report from the Doctor. She said it is Cancer. I said “Oh no.” and began to cry. My Sister said to me “Don‘t cry.”

Months have now gone by with My Sister getting ready for her 4^th chemotherapy treatment. She is the strongest woman I have ever met and so blessed she is My Sister. I am so proud of my baby Sister. So many reasons I could not write them all down. But to describe her to someone who does not know her. She is that person who is your best friend.  Everyone knows all about a best friend. There is not one person who has ever NOT experienced that special bond.

My Sister is special. First off she is my baby sister so I have known her from the day she was born. My Sister is precious, beautiful, thoughtful, caring, very smart, and an amazing caregiver to all those around her.

Yes, this is a difficult time for My Sister right now but never think for a moment she has let up on the confidence in being healed. She has many things on her “to do” list and plans to do them plus adding to that list.

So caregivers beware when you think you are going to help My Sister because she will be right next to you. Whether doing laundry, cleaning the floors, dusting or washing windows. She is strong and is never going to listen to anyone who says no you can not do that.

To My Sister, I love you with all my heart. For you I will continue to do anything in the world for you. Every day you are in my thoughts and prayers. I pray for you to heal. God already knows what he needs to do to make your life the best. So, yes, I am counting on him to give My Sister a good and long life. Yes, I am selfish because I need My Sister for my life.

So My Sister says, “Don’t cry.” Listening to her, I will do as she says to be strong for her….My Sister.  Even though I share tears with her and for her, My Sister knows I will be there for her always. Forever being strong for My Sister.

I love you.

Caribbean Islands! See photos taken prior to all the damage done by Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria!

A day by day account of our adventure on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines "Adventure of the Seas"!

We departed out of the the Cruise Port in San Juan, Puerto Rico on September 2, 2017 at 8:30 PM. The weather was not a factor and matter of fact no one really paid any attention to it. The excitement was all about going on a 7 Day Caribbean Cruise.
Our first port was St Thomas in the Virgin Islands on September 3, 2017. We arrived at 8 AM and could spend the entire day on the island.

Our first view as we exited the ship was a Dutch Windmill!  St Thomas Island is founded by the Dutch.We chose to hike and shop. After talking with the locals they told us of a beach which the "cruisers" were not told about. It was Emerald Beach. We rode the Taxi to Emerald Beach which was absolutely beautiful! And the locals was correct in that very few people were there. Only locals seem to be in the area. It was a calm day with small waves washing into the beach. We removed our shoes and walked in the surf.
